  A low price is sometimes the result of various events. It is worth asking for details, because it may happen that a reliable contractor gives us a good price, and we reject his offer based on the opinion that "cheap is bad".
• possible delivery time
• As you can guess, good specialists have their upcoming dates booked. Availability of dates may be distant, so it is worth planning everything in advance.

What you should know?

• the terms of the contract should always be in writing,
• acceptance of works, payment of advances and tranches always after agreeing and accepting the terms,
• a person recommended should also be verified, trust is built on the basis of common experience; the opinion of others should be only information for us, not fact,
• understatements, lack of specifics, and oversights result from the lack of a plan for specific work,
• the contractor should focus on solutions, 
• we have two types of contractors: professionals who will protect everything against damage and dirt, know the order of work, perform the work according to deadlines and the so-called fast-paced people who delay deadlines, sometimes forget details, and make numerous mistakes,
• Carrying out work without a construction design because someone has experience is unacceptable,
• Good equipment does not mean that the work performed will also be good.

What is worth asking?

• What are the individual steps of the work performed?
  Ask for references, contact a satisfied customer. A Polish proverb says "The end of the tongue is a guide". If the contractor avoids the topic, does not want to provide his phone number or explains the GDPR, you already have a sign that he may be hiding something.

• Ask about the course of cooperation?
• Were deadlines missed?
• Was there order?
• Are there any current problems with the contractor's work?

It is worth contacting the construction manager, because the assessment of the performance of such works is based on many years of experience. Price
We have already talked about the price, but it is worth emphasizing it to make it easier for you to remember.
A low price does not always mean that someone is a "bugger". Sometimes someone's job has been postponed and they are willing to do something in their free time, even for less money, to cover the costs of paying employees.

Quotation
The quote is supposed to say what, for how much, specifying specific stages of work or services.
Obtaining a quote based on the cost of construction X = PLN 10,000 should make you wonder.
Remember that this price means nothing to you. You actually don't know anything - what and for how much.
Based on specifics, pricing of individual services will give you the opportunity to negotiate certain works on which you can save. Good contractors have a lot to do, so it is normal that the deadlines for completing the work may be delayed. It is also good advice to protect yourself against the possibility of the contractor resigning from performing the work by means of a contract and a deposit. Imagine that the contractor is also talking to many clients and, probably guided by the principle of self-interest, may decide to break the verbal contract in the event of a higher rate for the work performed.

General contractor
When choosing a general contractor, you use the same rules as above.
You can talk to employees or companies that cooperate with the general contractor. Usually, the general contractor commissions the work to be performed by a subcontractor.
The fact that I have been cooperating with the same companies for years reflects well on the general contractor. It is important that you check the company and secure your interests with a good contract.
